A terrific run from our William Haggas-trained filly Wild Dahlia yesterday, who endured a difficult passage through the race but, when the gaps appeared, ran on strongly to finish well. With a clearer run, she looked like she could have won. Her target is now the Straight-Mile Series Final Handicap at Redcar next month, worth £45,000, provided the ground remains suitable.

Undiscovered finished a creditable fifth on day one of the St Leger meeting. He ran well off a mark of 93, and the performance leaves him with plenty of options going forwards. His owners have already enjoyed some memorable days with him, and we’re sure it won’t be long before he’s back in the winner’s enclosure.

Also heading to Doncaster this weekend is firm favourite Treasure Time for the Pertemps Network Handicap. Some may remember him from York’s Ebor Festival in August 2024, where he recorded his biggest win to date in the £100,000 Heritage Handicap. Things haven’t quite gone his way this year, but we will find out where he is at tomorrow and go from there.
