Treasure Time wins well at Newmarket!
Treasure Time got his head in front for the first time in RaceShare silks at Newmarket yesterday and we are absolutely delighted that he has delivered on the promise he showed in his four previous starts.
Trev - as he is affectionately known - ran a blinder on just his second start at Kempton last October, which made him an exciting prospect for this year as a three-year-old. On his second start of this campaign (fourth of his career), he endured a totally luckless run at Chester 8 days before lining up at Newmarket. That can often happen on the Roodee and it was our turn, unfortunately, to experience having a runner at the track, who finishes strongly without ever threatening the winner!
William Haggas was confident of a good performance from him, providing the race didn't come too soon at Newmarket, and he was right - with Cieren also especially confident in his post-race debrief for our owners at Chester, that he would be surprised if he didn't win his next race!
He was given a provisional Timeform rating of 92 for this run which puts him ahead of the ratings given to his high-class siblings, Badri and Equality at this point in their careers. Given that Equality went on to be third in a Group 1, this is a mouth watering prospect.
We can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds for him!
