Cornichon set for debut as weekend racing beckons
Our 2026 breeze-up purchase, Cornichon, a two-year-old colt by Goken who is in training with Roger Varian, is all set to make his racecourse debut tomorrow at Newbury (1.47pm).
He did a very impressive breeze-up before being purchased and boasts a pedigree full of black type. His owners also had the opportunity to see him canter up Warren Hill during their recent visit to Roger’s Carlburg Stables, giving them the chance to see him at first hand.
Cornichon has a fantastic temperament and has continued to please since joining Roger’s yard, and we’re looking forward to seeing him step onto the racecourse in the RaceShare silks tomorrow.
Our attention then turns to our two runners on Saturday, with Buccabay first up at Newmarket. He has been entered for a number of races in recent weeks, but the ground has been too soft for him to take his chance, so it will be good to see him back on the track this weekend on what we hope will be a more suitable surface.
Fresh off the back of a win, Yes I’m Mali lines up for his next assignment, also at Newbury. He’s shown such a great constitution for racing and continues to provide his owners with plenty of thrills along the way.
