Treasure Time runs a blinder on second start!

Monday 16 October 2023

Treasure Time gave all his owners a Wednesday evening at Kempton to remember when finishing second on his second ever start last week. Our two-year-old son of Time Test was green on his debut at Newbury back in June, after which he was gelded.

We went into the Kempton race expecting and hoping that he had come on mentally for that first racecourse appearance, but that there was a chance it would feel like his first day at school again. So, we were very pleasantly surprised to see him travel nicely into the race under Cieren Fallon over the seven furlong trip. In the straight, he took a bit of time to pick up, but when Cieren urged him to produce his effort, Treasure Time began to quicken, chasing the eventual winner all the way to the line and reducing the margin to only a neck as they hit the line. The winner cost over half a million euros at the breeze-up sales and the Godolphin favourite costing even more, was back in fourth.

William Haggas was very pleased with the run, which proved we have a horse on our hands with significant ability. Treasure Time will now be put away for the winter, with his pedigree pointing to much improvement next year at three and beyond. We now have all winter to dream of some success with this stunning individual.
