The action is set to ramp up after the Bank Holiday weekend
It’s the calm before the storm with multiple RaceShare targets coming up from next week onwards.
Gibbs Island heads to the £80,000 Swinton Hurdle at Haydock next Saturday. He was a fast finisher in the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen, and hopefully he can back that up returning to the scene of his Victor Ludorum romp last season.
After his highly promising third on debut at Southwell, Sea Tempest has plenty of options for his next start, starting with Fontwell and Kelso on Wednesday, Huntingdon on Thursday, or Haydock on Saturday.
Yes I’m Mali and Treasure Time could both be in action at York’s Dante Meeting. The former showcased David O’Meara’s skill for improving horses with a comfortable win at Thirsk on his second RaceShare start recently, and if he gets in at the bottom of the weights of the Churchill Tyres Handicap on May 13, it would give his owners a memorable day.
Meanwhile, Treasure Time, an emphatic winner over course and distance at the 2024 Ebor Festival, is set to make his seasonal return in the Hambleton Handicap on May 14. With a private facility and ticket offer secured for owners, it promises to be another thoroughly enjoyable occasion on the Knavesmire.
Criminal Shore ran slightly below par at Musselburgh on Wednesday when racing prominently. He’s better suited to being held up with cover, so a more restrained ride next time should help him show his true ability.
Our recent runners included Lucky Manifest, who made his first start at Sandown since undergoing a wind operation in a competitive 0-145 handicap hurdle on Saturday. He improved on his below-par run in the Morebattle to hit the line strongly, and hopes are high that he can take another step forward on his next outing, which we expect to come within the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, City Of Dreams endured a nightmare passage at Wetherby on Sunday, forced wide throughout. The ground also proved quicker than ideal, and this is an effort best forgiven having proven himself to be consistent so far in handicaps on the all-weather.
