Sea Tempest will make his debut tomorrow in the 3.25 at Southwell in the bumper, after his intended target at Kelso last Friday was rained off due to very heavy ground.

The four-year-old gelding was bought from last year’s Tattersalls Derby store sale for €58,000 and we have seen him progress considerably over the course of the eight months since. Trainer Tom Lacey is very happy with him at home and has taken him for a couple of away days with his other horses, which he seems to have enjoyed and taken in his stride.

Tomorrow’s race looks a potentially hot one on paper with a handful of expensive purchases taking to the track for the first time too. It’s very difficult to know what to expect from his rivals as a result - or indeed him on his first racecourse appearance! - so let’s see how he gets on and fingers crossed for a pleasing debut.
