Scampi entered in the Shergar Cup!

Scampi has been entered in the Shergar Cup Challenge at Ascot this Saturday, August 12th, which is a really exciting development and we are really living the dream with this horse. He has taken us to so many big meetings this season already and this is the next valuable target for him, ahead of a possible tilt at the £500,000 Ebor handicap at York towards the end of this month.

The Shergar Cup meeting sees jockeys from around the world compete in a team-racing format, joining forces to try and win racing’s ultimate team prize. There are four teams; Team Great Britain & Ireland, Team Europe, Team Rest of the World and Team Ladies, with three jockeys on each team. Each team has their own set of silks, so that they are easily identifiable for spectators and therefore are in-keeping with the team format that the Shergar Cup revolves around. It's always a great spectacle and offers something different in the Flat calendar.

Scampi was last seen finishing sixth in the £200,000 John Smith's Cup on the Knavesmire, which was yet another good performance following on from a second place in the £150,000 Old Newton Cup at Haydock. RaceShare's La Pulga is also entered in the race, but may not get into the race off his slightly lower handicap mark.
