Lucky Manifest is back to form at Plumpton
It was great to see Lucky Manifest cruise through much of his race at Plumpton yesterday afternoon, on ground that was likely softer than ideal for him. He jumped well and looked the winner turning in, before two horses coming down the outside of the track - including the favourite - caught him for toe in the final few furlongs.
He was highly progressive for his RaceShare owners before his blip at the Cheltenham December meeting, and this performance was much more like his usual form. He now has some valuable races in the pipeline, including the £120,000 Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso and the Imperial Cup at Sandown, so there should be a few more memorable days with him before the season is out.
Elsewhere this week, we have Robusto and Gibbs Island entered up, although Storm Chandra has impacted several meetings and may continue to do so. Robusto has options at Wolverhampton on Friday and Lingfield on Saturday - and bids to go one better than his back-to-back seconds recently - while Gibbs Island could travel to Musselburgh for his next start.
