La Pulga bounced right back to form at Ascot on Saturday, securing a well-earned ‘bronze’ in the King Edward VII Ascot Membership Handicap. Racing prominently throughout, he delivered his signature determined and gutsy performance- only headed in the final 100 yards.

There’s truly no place like Ascot to have a runner, and his loyal owners- many of whom had travelled the length and breadth of the country- were rewarded with champagne in the winning connections box, a lovely gesture from the track.

‘La P’ enjoyed a successful campaign in the Racing League last year, and it looks like another tilt at the valuable series is on the cards again this time around, with the first fixture set for Yarmouth at the end of the month.
