La Pulga goes on holiday a winner!
La Pulga has been a tough and reliable individual all year for his RaceShare owners and is shortly going on his well-deserved winter holiday.
The son of Kodiac ran twelve times this year and gave us a real highlight when winning at Hamilton in June. He was beaten a hair four days later when attempting to go back-to-back at Pontefract, hitting very short odds in-running and being denied in the shadows of the post.
Trained by Charlie Johnston, he went on to compete in quality handicaps at some of the big meetings such as Glorious Goodwood - where the rain was so bad the card he ran on was later abandoned over safety concerns - and York's Ebor meeting.
He bounced right back to form at Newcastle in October after a short break and wasn't disgraced at the track on his penultimate start or on his final start of the year at Wolverhampton on Saturday.
We are excited to see how he does for his winter break and when returning next year as a five-year-old. He is likely to be next seen competing from a mark equal to or below his last winning mark, so there is lots of optimism for next year with this horse.
