Key weekend tests for RaceShare runners
Lucky Manifest and Breathe Easy are both in action on Saturday, having already shown themselves to be promising prospects across both codes.
Lucky Manifest makes the lengthy journey up to Kelso for the Morebattle Handicap Hurdle at 3.30pm - Scotland’s richest hurdle race. Run over 2m, the Morebattle has long been a highlight of the Scottish National Hunt calendar, attracting some of the country’s top hurdlers.
Two from two at Kelso, Lucky Manifest has enjoyed a very progressive season. Although this represents a step up in class and a drop in trip, he thoroughly deserves his chance, particularly with £120,000 in prize money on offer.
Meanwhile, at Southwell, last-time-out maiden winner Breathe Easy makes his handicap debut at 6.30pm over 1m on the all-weather. Despite a small field, the race is competitive, and we will learn plenty more about him afterwards. Trainer Andrew Balding has suggested that, if all goes to plan, Breathe Easy could be aimed at some valuable turf handicaps during the spring.
