Gibbs Island declared for the Cheltenham Festival on Friday, Robusto heading to Wolverhampton
The final day of the Cheltenham Festival will begin with RaceShare's Gibbs Island heading for the Grade 1 Triumph Hurdle. Around a 16/1 chance, he will take on 17 rivals including the top class juveniles East India Dock and Lulamba.
We are under no illusions that this is a huge task for Gibbsy on the back of a Class 2 Victor Ludorum win at Haydock, but we have an unbeaten hurdler who improved considerably with each start. If he can show the benefit of that recent impressive win again, then we can hope to see him in the mix at the business end.
It's not all about the Festival and Gibbs Island for RaceShare owners, as Robusto heads to Wolverhampton's evening card for his fourth start of the year in the 7:20. He drops back to 1m 6f and he was beaten only a neck over that trip on his penultimate start at Southwell, while he has his first run ever at the Midlands track - having run at every other UK all-weather course in his career!
He bids to put a lesser performance last time behind him and regain the form of that previous Southwell second - and indeed his runner-up effort on his first run of the year at Kempton in January.
