Criminal Shore & Robusto run very well in defeat
Criminal Shore and Robusto both put in cracking performances yesterday, with the former making his RaceShare debut and finishing fourth and the latter adding another runner-up medal.
Criminal Shore was first up in the 3.40pm at Newcastle and he looked a real threat entering the closing stages, but as trainer David O’Meara predicted, just found the lack of a recent run against him. However, he showed himself to be in terrific heart and we have little doubt he will come on for this and be very competitive next time out.
Robusto was second yet again with another brave performance in the 8pm at Southwell. Harry Vigors and Rob led at a fairly steady gallop, and for a moment in the straight it looked like he might be swallowed up, but he battled on gamely to be narrowly denied, while looking to be coming back strongly at the line.
He has now finished second in his last two starts over course and distance, so hopefully another win in the RaceShare silks is just around the corner.
Tonight, Buccabay aims to keep his good run of form going in the 8pm at Kempton.
