Buccabay drops to the minimum trip for Haydock assignment today

On his second start since returning to Eve Johnson Houghton's Woodway Stables, Buccabay takes a shot at a competitive Haydock handicap this afternoon in the 4.50pm.

Having shown a lot of speed on his first returning run for the yard at Salisbury recently, Eve was keen to see him over the five furlong trip, so it will be fascinating to see how he gets on.

Some sprinters get faster as they get older, so there is hope Bucca fits that mould on what we have seen.

He was a winner at the track last summer for the yard before we bought him, in a better race, so we are very much looking forward to seeing how gets on, although it is a competitive contest.
