It’s been a busy start to 2026 for our all-weather team of Flat horses, with Robusto (second at 25/1) and Buccabay (fifth) both running very well on New Year’s Day and Suzuka making her RaceShare debut this week.

Criminal Shore looks set to become our latest recruit to make his debut in our silks, as he is being aimed at Newcastle on Tuesday for David O’Meara, who joined our training roster when we bought him at the Horse-in-Training sale in October. Already a winner on the Flat at Ripon last April, we are confident he has a good year ahead of him on the level from a mark of 76.

Robusto could be set for a return to Southwell on the same day, over the same course and distance as his latest second place. That was a drop in trip from two miles to a mile and a half and he seemed to cope well, with promising young apprentice Harry Vigors giving him a very good front-running ride. The pair just bumped into a once very useful horse on the day. Robusto won at Kempton last summer, so hopefully everything drops right for him, if he does take his chance.

Later in the month, we can look forward to the next starts of Buccabay, City Of Dreams and Suzuka. Buccabay has options at Kempton next week then Newcastle later in the month, where the straight six furlongs should help him, while City Of Dreams could make his handicap debut at either the same venue or at Wolverhampton. Suzuka should come on plenty for her run this week and a race at Lingfield is in the mind of Archie Watson for her.
