A memorable weekend for owners with Yes I'm Mali & Robusto victorious

Our latest horse-in-training purchase, Yes I’m Mali, was on the scoresheet on Saturday at Thirsk, when winning in determined fashion for David O’Meara and Danny Tudhope.

This was only his second start in RaceShare silks, his first coming at Doncaster’s opening meeting of the turf season, where a clear draw bias and slightly softer ground than he likes counted against him. Back on better ground, up to 6f and with that run under his belt, it was great to see everything fall right for victory in what was a very competitive 18-runner handicap.

His victory followed Robusto’s trip to the winner’s enclosure for his owners just 24 hours earlier at Wolverhampton, in a Class 4 handicap over 1m 6f. He has been competitive at a variety of trips, including his other success coming over two miles at Kempton and probably his best race so far this winter (narrowest defeat) being at a mile and a half. He has his own mind about the game, but versatility is his strong suit, along with his consistency, with form figures of 226301 now this year so far. His second victory for owners, it was another memorable day with hopefully many more to come.

Sea Tempest and Gibbs Island were withdrawn on account of the ground on Saturday afternoon, following significant rainfall at Ayr. The former remains on course for one more run in a bumper this season, before being put away for next season, while the latter is now being targeted at the prestigious Swinton Hurdle at Haydock on Saturday, May 9. Hopefully the weather is a little kinder to both horses ahead of their intended targets and they can end their seasons on a high for their owners.
