A Big Week of Runners
While most eyes will be on the Aintree Festival, we have City Of Dreams to look forward to on Thursday in the 5.25pm at Southwell. He showed improvement from his first three maiden and novice runs when finishing a good fourth at Wolverhampton on handicap debut last time, despite still showing signs of greenness. With expected progress, he should be capable of another strong run.
Our highly promising four-year-old, Sea Tempest, could line up in the Grade 2 bumper on Grand National Day at Aintree. He will need a bit of luck to make the cut, but remains a very exciting prospect for his owners. If he does not get into Aintree, or the ground proves to quick, alternative options include Newton Abbot and Market Rasen on Tuesday, or Ayr next Saturday.
Firm owner favourite Red Mirage will look to build on his excellent seasonal return, when third at Doncaster, with a run at Leicester on Monday.
Following his excellent run in the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, Gibbs Island is expected to take his place in the £100,000 Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr next Saturday. He should be well suited by the spring ground and, if reproducing that level of form, looks capable of taking a share of the prize money.
