These flagship sales present elite pedigrees, stellar physicals and access to high‑value bonus schemes.
Goffs Orby Book 1 – Leading Contenders
Goffs has deliberately trimmed the Book 1 catalogue to approximately 466 lots, emphasising depth over breadth. Key features include:
Four Frankel yearlings, notably a colt out of Madame Chiang and a three-parts brother to Desert Crown, both commanding substantial pre-sale interest.
Nineteen Wootton Bassett yearlings, including a half-sister to Jan Brueghel and Sovereign, a full-sister to Daytona, and a half‑sister to Royal Ascot victor Trinity College.
A catalogue boasting 21 siblings to Classic or G1 winners, among them those related to Going Global, Forever Together, Luxembourg, Saffron Beach, Together Forever, Phoenix Of Spain, and Cloth Of Stars.
High representation of elite sires: Dark Angel (17 lots), Sea The Stars (16), Lope De Vega (14), Kingman (5), Siyouni (3), and Dubawi (though only one lot).
These bloodlines reflect the international magnetism of Orby, which in years past has yielded high-calibre performers such as Angeal, The Lion In Winter, Together Forever, Lucky Vega, and Raging Bull.
Tattersalls October Yearling Sale – Book 1 Highlights
Tattersalls’ Book 1 is universally recognised as the continent’s premier yearling auction. The 2025 catalogue—published 4 August—features 537 yearlings, all eligible for the £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus scheme, which has so far awarded £9.62 million.
Standout lots include:
A Frankel colt, own-brother to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and six-time Group 1 star Alpinista — a clear flagship yearling in the catalogue.
Frankel fillies/colts out of elite Group 1-winning mares: Précieuse, Con Te Partiro, Glass Slippers, possibly half-siblings to Battaash and Luxembourg.
Major offerings by Dubawi, including half-siblings to St Mark’s Basilica, Magna Grecia, Waldgeist, daughters of God Given, and out of Lady Bowthorpe, Commissioning etc.
Fresh guineas appeal: fillies by Siyouni (out of Teppal), Too Darn Hot (dam Attraction), and Wootton Bassett (out of Nightime)—all tied to recent Guineas winners.
A clutch of full/half‑siblings to recent Group/Grade 1 stars: Dynamic Pricing, Time For Sandals, Be Your Best, Ghaiyyath’s half‑sister and more.
The catalogue embraces promising first-crop sires such as Baaeed, Blackbeard, Minzaal, Naval Crown, State of Rest, Thunder Moon as well as established names like Blue Point, Havana Grey and Mehmas.
