Patrick Veitch Bio

RaceShare’s buying is led by Patrick Veitch, well known to many as probably the UK’s most successful horse racing punter. In his autobiography, Enemy Number One, he discussed his approach to betting and detailed winning an eight-figure sum from the bookmakers.

In recent times, he has used the skills and algorithms developed over the years to move into the bloodstock market, in which he has established a formidable record of success.

In 2017 he invested heavily in the stallion Lope De Vega and his progeny, being very confident that the sire’s fortunes would soar. The reputation of Lope De Vega has risen considerably since then, and he is now firmly established as one of Europe’s elite sires.

Patrick was one of the original investors when RaceShare was founded in 2022, and he sourced four horses for us at that year’s October Sales. These were Scampi, who won at York’s Dante meeting as well as at the Shergar Cup at Ascot, and Treasure Time, an impressive winner at the Ebor Festival, along with La Pulga and Red Mirage, who have won six times between them to date. More recent purchases include Gibbs Island, dual winner Breathe Easy, and top bumper prospect, Sea Tempest.

As well as buying for RaceShare, his reputation has been enhanced further by his association with Brighton FC owners Tony Bloom and Ian McAleavy, for whom he has bought top class Group horses like Venetian Sun, Sky Majesty, Lake Forest and Santorini Star.

We are confident that, with Patrick at the helm, RaceShare has a considerable edge at the purchasing stage. His skills and dedication to research ensure that no stone is left unturned in trying to find the best possible horses for our owners.

Patrick has been much in demand from the media and, if you’d like to hear more about his time in the racing industry, then please click below for a series of interviews with Simon Nott.
