Wild Dahlia

Flat Sprinter 3yo Bay Filly 15.2hh
  • Sire: Ardad Dam: Ejtyah

This syndicate is now SOLD OUT. RaceShare100 is our most exclusive syndicate with only 100 shares in each horse. Wild Dahlia is a lovely three-year-old bay filly by Ardad trained by William Haggas in Newmarket

She was bought at Goffs Breeze-Up Sale at Doncaster for £65,000 (£68,250 including Goffs’ commission) by renowned racing investor Patrick Veitch in conjunction with leading bloodstock agent, Anthony Bromley.

Her debut in August saw her finish a highly promising 3rd in a hot 7 furlong Newmarket novice, and she got off the mark over a mile at Chelmsford in October, showing a seriously impressive turn of foot. She looks to have a very exciting future!

RaceShare100 benefits

  • Owners will be guaranteed a place on both of the two stable visits each year. Wherever possible we will give at least 2 months’ notice of each visit, allowing time for owners to plan their trip, maybe as a mini-break if they’ve a way to travel.

  • Have direct contact with your own Racing Manager

  • We are highly privileged to be one of the very few syndicates with horses at Somerville Lodge. Although we would normally host Zoom calls with the trainer for our RaceShare100 owners, we will not be able to offer that facility for this filly. William trains a large string of horses and with this comes a great many extra commitments, both domestic and international, so he does not feel able to guarantee his time in this way. However, his team have always gone the extra mile in keeping us informed about our horses and, of course, William has shown himself to be a star turn at our stable visits!

  • With typically 40-50 owners in RaceShare100 syndicates, you will have a very high chance of securing an owner’s badge on race days, as a ballot will not always be necessary. RaceShare will also continue its unrivalled efforts to secure extra badges, either free or at discounted rates, so you will hopefully find you & guests are usually able to benefit from these.

  • As with our new 500 share syndicate, Patrick Veitch has agreed to a Zoom Q+A which we shall host with all owners of new horses. There will be two opportunities each year- and you are guaranteed a place on both of them. Patrick will take questions on all aspects of the racing industry, including bloodstock and buying for RaceShare, as well as betting and any other issues of interest.

  • As an added bonus for purchasers of RaceShare 100 horses, Patrick has agreed to attend a day's racing once a year and meet with owners during the day. We will organise a facility at the races to chat to Patrick and The RaceShare team, which we will ensure will be at a discounted price from the racecourse.

Wild Dahlia makes nursery debut tonight
Show

After her last gasp victory at Chelmsford last time out where she shed her maiden tag, we are very excited to see how Wild Dahlia gets on tonight on her nursery debut in the 6:10 at Kempton.

Following the overnight defection of one of the favourites, she takes on four rivals for her second all-weather start. This track should suit her running style better than Chelmsford, where the short straight almost caught her out. Kempton has a wider and longer home straight, so there is a lot more time for horses to gather their stride and start motoring.

Cieren Fallon landed his 100th winner of the season aboard this filly last time - and rode her on her two previous starts - but Tom Marquand (who has first call on William’s horses) takes over tonight.

All four of her rivals have claims on paper, so it won’t be easy, but we are very hopeful of a big run.

Wild Dahlia lands odds-on victory for William Haggas
Show

Wild Dahlia produced a tremendous turn of foot to land her first victory yesterday at Chelmsford on only her third racecourse appearance.

Our two-year-old Ardad filly was bought from the breeze-ups at Doncaster in April and made her debut in a hot maiden at Newmarket in August, producing a very encouraging effort to finish third. Her next start came at Chester, where she broke slowly from the stalls and, at a track that favours being handy and in a good position, she was unable to get involved at the finish. She did stay on well on that occasion from well back, however, so it was still a decent performance in the circumstances. The winner broke the two-year-old track record, so it was a quality race.

We were very hopeful when she was declared to run at Chelmsford that she would break from the stalls on terms and land her first victory. She didn’t tick both of those boxes, as again she was slowly away; her jockey Cieren Fallon was forced to sit at the back of the field off a very slow pace. Thankfully, once she found daylight in the short straight, she was able to pick up with an impressive turn of foot and got up in the dying strides. It was one of those occasions where, mid-race, you think the writing is on the wall, so to defy all of that to win was very promising indeed.

She looks an exciting filly for the future and we can’t wait to see where she heads next.
