Flat Miler 2yo Bay Colt 15.1hh
  • Sire: Time Test Dam: Penny Drops

This unraced two-year-old colt (watch his introduction video) is the fifth foal out of the exceptional broodmare, Penny Drops, who herself was Listedplaced five times. The previous four foals out of Penny Drops have included Equality (Timeform 114), Outgate (TF108) and Badri (TF97). He is by second-season sire Time Test, who has made a promising start to his career at stud. Time Test boasts a top-class Juddmonte pedigree, being out of the Group 1- winning two-year-old Passage Of Time. He received strongly positive comments from our inspection team and will go into training with William Haggas, who trained superstar Baaeed, the best racehorse in Europe in 2022.

The plan

Treasure Time was ridden for the first time in November with renowned pre-trainer Malcolm Bastard and has now moved to William Haggas, who is gradually introducing him into training with his other young horses.

As Treasure Time progresses in the early stages of training, William and his team will keep owners updated on how he's developing, and what signs he's showing. In the first few months, we will be able to ascertain whether he's going to be an early, forward two-year-old, or a later-maturing type.

As an example, his siblings that have raced to date were a mix of the two (early/late-maturing); Outgate won first time out in the June of his 2yo year; whilst Equality didn't run until later in the year. It will all depend on how Treasure Time develops physically and mentally.
