Treasure Time

Flat Miler 3yo Bay Gelding 15.1hh
  • Sire: Time Test Dam: Penny Drops

Treasure Time caught the attention of our buying team at last year’s Tattersalls October Book 2 Yearling Sale in Newmarket with his excellent pedigree, being the fifth foal out of the exceptional broodmare, Penny Drops, who herself was Listed-placed five times. The previous four foals out of Penny Drops have won 20 races between them, all improving dramatically through their career, with Equality (TF 118) and Badri (TF 113) proving extremely high class. Treasure Time is by second-season sire Time Test, who has made a promising start to his career at stud. Time Test boasts a top-class Juddmonte pedigree, being out of the Group 1- winning two-year-old Passage Of Time. Treasure Time made his debut in June, where he was too green to do himself justice, but ran on well late on. He was subsequently gelded and returned to the track for his second start at Kempton in October, where he produced a hugely promising display to finish a close second, beaten only a neck by a horse who was bought for over €500,000 at the sales. He picked up really well when asked by jockey Cieren Fallon, showing a sharp turn of foot and registering promising closing sectionals, so the future looks really bright for this horse. The plan

Treasure Time is back in training following his winter holiday at Benson Stud and is preparing for his three-year-old campaign, with the Flat turf season starting in April. We cannot stress enough that the progeny of Penny Drops have all improved very substantially from what they achieved at two, with the best two - Equality and Badri - improving by 60 and 40lbs respectively. It should also be noted that those two horses are both by stallions who were Group horses at two, whereas Time Test was only a novice at two and improved massively as he got older. So, we are certainly very, very excited for next year.

  • Big eye-catcher to finish runner-up on only second racecourse start
  • His four older half-siblings have won 20 races between them, all improving dramatically through their career, with Equality (TF 118) and Badri (TF 113) proving extremely high class
