After two promising placed efforts, he got off the mark on his third start in a 5f Catterick maiden in August, showing plenty of speed and winning a shade cosily at the line. Put away for the season after that, he looks set for an exciting campaign in 2026.

The Lost Sock gave his RaceShare x Racing TV owners a fantastic day on Wednesday at Catterick, recording his first win on just his third start in a 5-furlong maiden. He dominated the race with the runner-up from some way out and, having engaged in a duel over the last 2 furlongs, crossed the line to win a shade cosily in the end. He has shown improvement with each run and Timeform have rated him 89p for this effort.
Trainer Roger Varian reported he was a little sore after the race, so may need a couple of weeks recuperation, but his owners can look forward to a campaign in nurseries in the autumn. Quite a free-going sort, The Lost Sock may well stick to 5 furlongs for the moment, but his pedigree suggests he’ll be suited to 6 furlongs in time.

This impressive 2yo colt is by Cotai Glory, who is a highly promising young stallion, sire of several Group winners including the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye winner, The Platinum Queen. He’s out of Jowana, who is already dam of the three-time winner Manitou, who achieved a BHA rating of 90, and Jowana has an overall very strong pedigree of 8 individual Group winners on her catalogue page. The buying team were really impressed by his breeze, and Roger Varian was very impressed with him as an individual.
He's now in training with Roger Varian, who has a great record with his 2yo runners.
