Poet's Word gelding

We are delighted to introduce our next 100-share syndicate for a seriously exciting three-year-old gelding by Poet’s Word. He was bought at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Store Sale in June for €45,000 by Patrick Veitch in conjunction with Tom Lacey, who will train the horse. Patrick had a short list of horses at this sale and came away with two - the other being our Blue Bresil gelding launched earlier this summer as a 40 share syndicate. Feedback from owners has been they prefer to assess horse launches one at a time and so we have launched the two horses either side of the summer holidays.

Tom Lacey is as fine a judge as there is, having purchased six-time Grade 1 winner Energumene and numerous other top horses. He was very keen on this horse from a conformation perspective and commented that he is a “racey, not over heavy, good athletic type of horse with very easy movement”. Anyone purchasing a share is very welcome to join us at our next stable visit to Tom’s yard on Saturday, September 12, which includes a sit down lunch with our trainer and his team. Once you have joined the syndicate, just let us know by return email if you would like to come. There will of course be a further stable visit early next year and regular opportunities to catch up with Tom by Zoom.

The pedigree is very strong on both sides, with sire Poet's Word having put up some excellent numbers in his first three years of runners, with demand for his stock increasing as results have come through. The dam Brooklynn Glory was Grade 2 placed and comes from a pedigree with many quality hurdlers, including Grade 1 winner Alderwood.

The costs

This is a 100 share syndicate with an initial share price of £540, consisting of the purchase price of the horse at £415 per share (includes 6% Tattersalls commission), plus all costs from his purchase in June until November 1, 2026.

From this date, there will be a monthly payment of £55, with an initial commitment to May 1, 2028, payable by direct debit (reductions available for multiple shares - see our website for a full breakdown).

What do the monthly fees cover?

All training, veterinary, transport & racing (entries, jockey & VAT services) costs, plus RaceShare’s service fee for the management of the syndicate, with no hidden or additional charges.

What to expect as an owner

There are many aspects to owning with RaceShare, but these include:

• Very strong prospects of an owner's badge. To date, on over 95% of occasions, owners in our 100-share syndicates have all received an owner’s badge.
• Guaranteed place for you at each stable visit
• Direct contact with your own Racing Manager
• Calls with your trainer
• Invitation to a day at the races with the RaceShare team in attendance, along with Patrick Veitch, with whom there will also be a biannual Zoom Q&A
• If you purchase a 25% stake in a horse, you have the option to be included on the racecard as a co-owner.
