Marlacoo
- Sire: Wings Of Eagles Dam: Sally Knox
This syndicate is now SOLD OUT! Marlacoo was purchased at the Cheltenham May Sale for £85,000, shortly after his impressive debut bumper win at Down Royal in early May. In that race, he powered clear in the final furlong and was very impressive at the line. He will be trained by Tom Lacey, who has very quickly established himself as a top-class trainer in recent seasons. He was selected by renowned racing investor Patrick Veitch in conjunction with Anthony Bromley, who said:
“Marlacoo had been on my target list ever since he had shown a smart turn of foot to win his bumper at Down Royal and I was thrilled to secure him at the Cheltenham sale soon afterwards for the RaceShare team. He is only four and, despite some signs of babiness in the race, once he saw some clear daylight in the straight he shot clear from some well fancied horses. He is a really athletic, medium-sized type, who I think will thrive with another summer on his back and I cannot wait to see him on the track this seaon.” Marlacoo was placed in all his completed starts in 2024/2025 over hurdles, including getting off the mark with an impressive win in a novice at Ayr in February. He looks likely to be suited by 3 miles in time, and remains a very exciting prospect for this season and beyond.

Recent updates
After wins for Golden Maverick and Gibbs Island in recent weeks, it was the turn of Marlacoo on Monday afternoon, bidding to land the hat-trick of recent RaceShare Jumps winners!
He headed to Ayr where he encountered heavy ground for the first time and took on five rivals, where he was sent off favourite. He had handled soft well at Sandown and he's a strong stayer, so there was every hope that he would cope with it - and boy did he do that!
He coasted upsides the leaders in the home straight and appeared to be going much the best, before gaining a clear advantage over the final flight and going on to score by nearly three lengths. This was his second career victory - his other was for previous connections - and his first over hurdles, and we have every reason to believe he can land another one this season.
This was a fourth win in a row in the Jumps sphere courtesy of Gibbs Island's back-to-back wins! With such a good run of form in the RaceShare jumping department, we are hoping Spaceport can keep the streak going as he heads to Catterick tomorrow for his hurdles debut!
