Buccabay is a quality sprint handicapper and 5-time winner, who is now ready to go for the summer period, with a stack of valuable races to aim at.
He was an impressive winner of a quality 6f Windsor handicap last May and won again at Kempton in December. Although he has proved himself to be very consistent on the all-weather, his best performances have come on turf and he is well-suited to quick ground, so we are really looking forward to the second half of the season with him.
Buccabay looked in great nick at a recent stable visit and trainer Eve Johnson Houghton is very happy with him at home.
The Costs
This is a 100 share syndicate with an initial share price of £100, based on an updated valuation of £10,000.
There will be a monthly payment of £52, with an initial commitment to July 1, 2027, payable by direct debit (reductions available for multiple shares - see below for a full breakdown).
What do the monthly fees cover?
All training, veterinary, transport & racing (entries, jockey & VAT services) costs, plus RaceShare’s service fee for the management of the syndicate, with no hidden or additional charges.
What to expect as an owner
There are many aspects to owning with RaceShare, but these include:
- Very strong prospects of an owner's badge. To date, on over 95% of occasions, owners in our 100-share syndicates have all received an owner’s badge.
- Guaranteed place for you at each stable visit
- Direct contact with your own Racing Manager
- Calls with your trainer
- Invitation to a day at the races with the RaceShare team in attendance, along with Patrick Veitch, with whom there will also be a biannual Zoom Q&A
- If you purchase a 25% stake in a horse, you have the option to be included on the racecard as a co-owner.

RaceShare owners were cheering last night as Buccabay stormed through to win in style at Kempton Park in the 7.40pm Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day (London Sprint Series Qualifier) Handicap over 6f.
It was Buccabay’s first win on the all-weather and his first since re-joining Eve Johson-Houghton, and he proved to be well-handicapped as he gathered speed down the outside to pip the favourite Carbine Harvester for William Haggas, on the line.
Eddie Greatrex gave Buccabay a fantastic ride, realising straight away that the pace was too strong as Buccabay was struggling to go with them, so he dropped him back in and sat patiently until space opened up as they came around the bend.
Trainer Eve was understandably delighted with the win: “I am absolutely thrilled to get him back in the winner’s enclosure. I absolutely love this horse. Thanks Bucca!”
He is likely to remain competitive and has early January targets for his next runs.
There was an emotional element to the win as David, a member of staff at Eve’s, and who has been at Buccabay’s side since was a yearling, had to miss the race due to the death of his father. The win would have given David a real boost, so well done Buccabay.
Buccabay makes a quick return in tomorrow evening’s 7.40pm race at Kempton, following an encouraging performance at Southwell last time out. Hampered in the final furlong there, he would have finished closer to the winner had he not encountered trouble, so hopes are high that he can back up that effort and give his owners something to cheer about.
Kempton have once again gone out of their way for RaceShare owners, providing a private box and a two-course meal for just £12.50- less than the price of a general admission ticket. This means that around 25 of our owners will be enjoying the race together, soaking up the atmosphere, enjoying views of the course, and hopefully shouting home Buccabay!
